Michael A. Bogdan, MD, FACS, Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon

It’s rare to find a plastic surgeon in the Fort Worth, Plano, and Frisco areas such as Dr. Michael Bogdan, who combines a warm, down-to-earth demeanor with surgical precision honed through years of exceptional training and experience.

Fellowship-trained and certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Michael Bogdan uses advanced plastic surgery techniques that he mastered during 6 years of residency at Stanford University and as one of the few plastic surgeons in the country who completed formal post-graduate training in aesthetic surgery.

An Innovator & Problem Solver

Dr. Bogdan’s interest in medicine originally focused on research. As a 16-year-old high school student in Maryland, his advanced grasp of science and math led to a summer job at the National Institutes of Health assisting in research. At around this time—well before the days of the Internet—he created a computer network for the school district that became the model on which other districts in the state based their systems.

At the University of Maryland, he opted to major in chemistry and earned his degree in 2 years, graduating summa cum laude with degrees in both chemistry and zoology. While earning his diplomas, he volunteered during the night shift at a local hospital’s emergency room, which spurred his interest in medicine. While enrolled at Stanford’s medical school, Dr. Bogdan discovered during surgical training that he enjoyed the personal interaction and technical demands of surgery more than research. “Plastic surgery was the most diverse surgical specialty,” Dr. Bogdan says, “because you must be able to work on every part of the body. It’s also rewarding because cosmetic surgery patients can see and appreciate their results. It makes me happy to have happy patients.”
