Brow Lift

Do your friends and loved ones comment that you look tired or grumpy, even when you feel happy and refreshed? This is something Dr. Bogdan and Dr. Cason hear during many consultations with patients who come in seeking facial rejuvenation. The upper face, which is so crucial to our facial expression, is one of the first areas to succumb to the signs of aging, but it is also an area that can be substantially improved through a procedure known as brow or forehead lift. Fellowship-trained plastic surgeons Dr. Bogdan and Dr. Cason perform brow lift surgery for Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, and Grapevine, Texas, women and men to correct the deep, horizontal forehead lines, vertical frown lines, and drooping eyelids that contribute to a fatigued or even stern expression.

If you are interested in undergoing a brow lift, request a consultation with Dr. Michael Bogdan or Dr. Roger Cason, plastic surgeons specializing in facial aesthetic surgery.

Choosing Forehead Lift

The brow lift is a procedure that is designed to raise the eyebrows into a more youthful position. This effectively “opens up” the eyes and relieves that fatigued, scowling look. Plastic surgeons Dr. Michael Bogdan and Dr. Roger Cason specialize in facial procedures such as the brow lift, and also perform rejuvenation procedures such as rhinoplasty and facelift. They have trained extensively with some of the leaders in aesthetic plastic surgery, and have acquired advanced techniques which they use in all of their facial plastic surgery procedures.

What is a Brow Lift?

The purpose of a forehead or brow lift is to restore a more youthful appearance to the upper face, which is one of the first areas to succumb to the effects of aging. The brow lift does just what the name implies – it lifts the brow. Beyond that, the procedure effectively makes the forehead skin tighter, smoothing out horizontal lines, and reducing the droopiness of the upper eyelids. Furthermore, the vertical lines between the eyes, or “frown lines” are also diminished, resulting in an overall refreshed and rejuvenated appearance in the upper face. This procedure also creates some weakening of the muscles that cause frown lines, an effect similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic, but far longer lasting.

The Procedure

There are both traditional and endoscopic approaches to brow lift procedures, and each has pros and cons. The brow lift can elevate the eyebrow position, reduce both horizontal and vertical forehead lines, and move the hairline forward if you have a high forehead. Some of the forehead muscles are weakened, which will cause them to contract less after surgery, eliminating the frowning or fatigued appearance. The procedure can be combined with other eyelid or facial procedures, such as eyelid surgery. The outpatient procedure requires approximately 45 minutes to an hour and a half of surgical time.
